How to Become Catholic
St. Catherine’s is excited to accompany you on the journey to becoming Catholic. The process through which people join or complete their initiation into the Catholic Church is called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults or OCIA (formerly RCIA).
Who Can Participate in OCIA?
- Those who are not baptized.
Those who were baptized in another Christian denomination/church and wish to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church; that is, become a Catholic.
- Baptized Catholics who were never formed in the Catholic faith and have not completed their initiation; that is, who have received neither of the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
- You can also become a sponsor for an OCIA candidate and share your faith with them.
It is open to both students and parishioners. We want to assist you in discerning God's will for your life at this time. We will help you through prayer, answering questions, and talking with you. We are here to help in whatever way we can.
