Deaf Community at Mass.01

St. Catherine's is the home of the Catholic Deaf Community in the Diocese of Des Moines. American Sign Language interpretation is available at 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.

Bible Study Group

A deaf study group meets before mass Sunday mornings from September to May. The readings and Gospel are discussed and reviewed. All deaf are welcome to join.

Movie Study Group

A movie and study group meets every other Thursday at 1:00 p.m. The movie is usually split between two weeks and discussed throughout. Bring a snack to share. If you have questions, email Gus and Dee Cordero.

Quilting Queens

The women of the Deaf Community meet at St. Catherine's to quilt every other Tuesday. They begin with prayer and work on a pattern together under the guidance of Dee Cordero. If you have questions, email Dee Cordero.


Reconciliation is offered by appointment with an interpreter, or without, if you prefer to receive the sacrament in writing. Email the office or call 515-650-8646 to schedule.
