Deacon Ryan Andrew to be ordained a priest Today

All are invited
When he was younger, Deacon Ryan Andrew wanted to be a baseball player. On Friday, he'll be joining a different kind of team. Bishop Richard Pates will ordain him to the priesthood at a 7 p.m. liturgy at St Ambrose Cathedral on Friday, Dec. 14. All are invited.
After his ordination, he will become the chaplain at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines and part-time associate pastor at St. Pius X Parish in Urbandale.
Originally from Christ the King Parish in Des Moines, Deacon Andrew wanted to be a professional baseball player but felt God was calling him to priesthood. "I am so glad I said 'yes' to the Lord," he said in the November edition of The Catholic Mirror.
