Hilbert Named New Diocesan Director of Stewardship
Angela Hilbert, of St. Pius X Parish, will be the new diocesan Director of Stewardship effective Feb.8.
In her new role, she will oversee all of the diocese’s efforts to present opportunities for parishioners in 80 parishes in central and southwest Iowa to support the work of the Catholic Church through the Annual Diocesan Appeal, the annual seminarian appeal, The Catholic Mirror subscription drive and more. She will also increase understanding among parish leaders of how to grow stewardship within parishes.
“The Diocese of Des Moines extends a heartfelt welcome to Angela,” said Bishop Richard Pates. “In her new position, she will not only be involved in the classical pursuit of fundraising but also help the diocesan community further understand giving of funds personal gifts and time is reflective of one’s relationship with God. It is the return to God of all God has done for us.”
A certified fundraising executive, Hilbert has a passion for using her gifts for helping nonprofit organizations in the Des Moines metro area.
With more than 20 years of experience as a nonprofit professional, she has assisted many organizations including most recently The Blank Park Zoo, where she encouraged financial support of their many programs and services.
Hilbert has been active among area fundraising professionals. She served on the boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Community Health Charities.
Outside of work, she has volunteered with the Dress for Success Des Moines chapter, the Iowa State Fair, as a board member of the Des Moines Area Religious Council’s emergency food pantry and at St. Pius X School in Urbandale.
She and her husband, Rob, have been a sponsor couple helping engaged couples prepare for the sacrament of marriage. They have two daughters ages nine and 15.
Hilbert is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in communication.
